Our Team
We have an excellent team of academic tutors that include undergraduate and postgraduates from top Universities including Oxford and Cambridge, PhD students working in their chosen field, full-time private tutors and qualified teachers with many years of valuable experience under their belt. Our academic tutors are required to attend a face-to-face interview with NJ Teaching to ensure they possess the required qualifications, experience, references and personal qualities.
Tuition Options
The short course option is ideal for students who are looking for a short revision course or 'top-up' in preparation for an examination. The short course is 4 hours and will typically be booked as 4x 1-hour lessons to review material and prepare for the examination. Please note that it is not possible to book a tutor for less than 4 hours.
Term-Time Tuition
Term-time tuition is the most common tuition arrangement and will usually consist of 1 lesson/week lasting 1-2 hours. This is ideal for students who are looking for weekly support to build on subject knowledge and skills. Tutors usually utilise this weekly lesson to assist with homework, teach course material, revise and build general competence and confidence.
Where possible, students and parents should contact us at the beginning of the academic year (August/September), as tutor schedules get busier as the academic year progresses and it becomes increasingly tricky to organise tuition days and times.
Holiday tuition is an option for students who are unable to work with a tutor during term time. This may be an ideal solution for students at boarding school or students that wish to increase study time ahead of an examination in January or May/June.
